Pola HP11—I have power on unit, it has switched on but there isn’t power getting to boiler/pump/heater?
Check that there is power connected to terminal 4 (‘Common’ supply terminal of output relay) If there isn’t power going into common, you won’t get power out of the switched live because it is a volt free relay.
POLA/AKO NTC sensors - Can I extend the cable length?
Yes, use 2 core copper wire of about 0.75mm squared cross sectional area. You should not need to recalibrate. Avoid cable runs in same conduit/trunking as mains cable or you may experience problems with interference. As a rule of thumb, try to keep them at least 10/12” apart.
Why is the temperature reading oscillating rapidly up and down?
The sensor cable is probably picking up interference from being too close to a mains cable. Avoid cable runs in same conduit/trunking as mains cable. As a rule of thumb, try to keep them at least 10/12” apart.
Temperature doesn’t read what is expected.
Make sure the sensor tip is precisely where you want temperature measured. Remember ‘temperature gradients’ (Temperature will be hottest at heater surface and coldest at extreme locations. Also check the cable for physical damage and any joins to extensions.
